Law Library to Celebrate Grand Reopening with Guest Speaker Patricia Guerrero, Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court

title

April 3, 2023

Riverside, CA, March 30, 2023 – The Riverside County Law Library (RCLL) is excited to announce that after being closed to the public for several months, the Victor Miceli Law Library will hold a Grand Reopening event on Friday, April 21, 2023, located at 3989 Lemon Street in Riverside. The Victor Miceli Law Library has been closed since Fall 2021 and has undergone major replacement and upgrade of the building’s HVAC, electrical and fire alarm monitoring systems. RCLL took advantage of the closure to renovate the interior of the library’s main reading room which now features a bright and open layout with modern furniture and amenities including flexible study and meeting spaces, multi-purpose activity and learning center, dedicated space for copiers, public computers, and a reconfigured information services center. The law library has also added an eBooks library to its collection of selective online legal databases that are available to county residents by remote access. “Everyone involved with this renovation has been working hard to ensure that the law library meets the changing legal information service needs of our community in a post-pandemic reality,” said Law Library Director, Victoria Williamson. “My staff and I really took advantage of the closure to evaluate the library space and collection, and how to make best use of them.” The Grand Reopening program will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Riverside County Board of Supervisors chambers located at 4080 Lemon Street, followed by a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception at the Victor Miceli Law Library. The program will include remarks by the Law Library Board President, the Honorable Jackson Lucky, and special guest speaker, California Supreme Court Chief Justice Patricia Guerrero. “We are thrilled and honored to have the California Supreme Court Chief Justice join us in celebrating this milestone event - marking a new era in RCLL’s eight decade long history of providing the public with free and equitable access to legal information,” Victoria Williamson stated.
